Houston AI is a nonprofit forum founded in 2025 to support the development, adoption, and responsible use of artificial intelligence across industry, research, and institutions in Houston and beyond.
Katie Mehnert serves as a co-founder alongside leaders from Rice University, Activera Consulting, Cena Ventures, and AI Ecosystems. Houston AI hosts forums, workshops, and discussions that bring together practitioners, researchers, and leaders to examine AI challenges, share applied insights, and shape best practices.
Houston's strength lies in the convergence of its industries — Medical, Space, Energy, Public Sector, and Education — where AI innovation accelerates progress and redefines cross-industry collaboration.
