About Katie Mehnert

Katie Mehnert is an authority and catalyst — building the ecosystem where human, financial, and natural capital converge at the frontier of the new economy.

A systems thinker and results-driven leader, Katie has spent 15 years at the intersection of energy, innovation, and human potential. As the founder of ALLY Energy and now The Bee Suite, she has architected strategies that transform how companies attract talent, build culture, and compete in the new energy economy — bridging oil and gas with renewables to create the market leaders of tomorrow.

Her influence reaches the highest levels of policy. Katie served as an Ambassador to the U.S. Department of Energy under both the Trump and Biden Administrations and as a member of the National Petroleum Council — making her a rare voice trusted by both sides of the aisle. Corporations, private equity firms, and startups seek her out as a strategic advisor when the stakes are highest.

A sought-after speaker and author, Katie’s thought leadership has appeared on NASDAQ, CNN, FOX, and Newsweek. Her new book The Ask is a call to action for systems change — and her track record backs it up. She hosted the first-ever Energy Human Capital Markets Day on Wall Street and rang the Closing Bell at the New York Stock Exchange. Her story has been told in three documentaries: Hot Money (2021), produced by Academy Award-winner Jeff Bridges and retired NATO General Wesley Clark; The Rational Middle: Just Transition (2022); and Dirty Nasty People (2023).

Beyond the boardroom, Katie founded Allies in Energy, Houston Energy & Climate Week, and Houston AI — initiatives dedicated to advancing the integration of artificial intelligence across the energy sector. A self-described “slow” marathon runner, she has crossed finish lines in London, Chicago, New York, and Berlin. She lives in Houston’s Energy Corridor with her husband Mark and their daughter, Ally.
