What Death Teaches Us About Life: A Letter to My Daughter

Dear Ally:

Mommy wants you to know 3 things that you are never too old or little to know:

1.  Embrace your beautiful self. Your sweet smile, sassy spirit and generosity for others are all amazing attributes that make you the angel you are.  Please don't ever think you have to change yourself for anyone: even for Mommy or Daddy.   We love you just the way you are!

2. Never stop learning, loving, and laughing.   Learning helps us grow.  Show your love - a love for yourself and for others.  Laugh often and laugh out loud, and whenever you can, laugh at yourself.  Learning, loving and laughing, my sweet girl, means you are living!

3.  I will always love you no matter what.  Our world is a beautiful place with opportunities, amazing people, success and happiness.  Our world is also filled with ugliness, bad people, harm and heartache.  You will make choices I don't agree with, we will argue, and there will be days we may not speak, but never EVER forget I will always be there for you, sweet Ally.

Laugh your heart out, dance in the rain, cherish the moment, ignore the pain, live, laugh, love, forgive and forget...Life's too short to be living with regrets.

All my love,

Mommy
